Full-time | Permanent | 37.5 hours per weekSalary: Dependent on experienceWe are recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join a well-established business and its busy finance team.This is a hands-on role with responsibility for ensuring the purchase ledger runs accurately and efficiently, maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting the wider finance function.Key responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day purchase ledger function, ensuring transactions are processed accurately.
• Complete supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support the management of accounts payable and ensure suppliers are paid within agreed terms where possible.
• Prepare proposed supplier payment schedules.
• Review purchase ledger ageing and investigate outstanding items.
• Post and allocate supplier payments.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and resolve queries promptly.
• Process and match invoices and assist with data entry.
• Review automatic GRNI matching and investigate discrepancies.
• Set up new supplier accounts.
• Liaise with other sites and departments across the wider business.
• Provide support with vehicle administration, including tax renewals, fines and insurance claims.
• Assist with general finance administration and ad hoc projects as required.

What do you need to be considered?

• Previous experience within purchase ledger, accounts payable or a similar finance role is essential.
• Confident using Excel and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and good numerical accuracy.
• Comfortable reconciling accounts and investigating discrepancies.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable dealing directly with suppliers and colleagues across the business.

  What you'll need to succeed
• You will ideally have previous experience within Purchase Ledger, Accounts Payable or a similar transactional finance role. You'll be organised, accurate and comfortable managing a high volume of invoices while communicating confidently with suppliers and internal teams.
