Paraplanning Team Lead - #2138163
IDEX Consulting Ltd
We are representing a national wealth management firm seeking an experienced Paraplanning Team Leader to oversee its paraplanning function across three offices in the South West: Bristol, Cardiff and Truro.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced paraplanner who has progressed into a mentoring, team leadership or management position and is now looking for the opportunity to take responsibility for a sizeable, geographically dispersed team.
The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 16 paraplanners with the majority of the team based in Bristol.
The Opportunity
The Paraplanning Team Leader will take responsibility for the performance, development and day-to-day management of the paraplanning team across Bristol, Cardiff and Truro.
A key part of the role will be providing leadership, mentoring and support to the team, ensuring high standards of technical quality, service delivery and operational efficiency are maintained across the three locations.
This is not a purely managerial position. The successful candidate must have a strong technical background in paraplanning and be comfortable supporting the team directly when required.
The role offers an ideal opportunity for a Senior Paraplanner / experienced Team Leader who enjoys developing people but also wants to retain a hands-on element to their role.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of approximately 16 paraplanners across Bristol, Cardiff and Truro
Provide effective leadership, mentoring and ongoing development to team members
Monitor workloads, performance and service levels across the three offices
Ensure paraplanning work is delivered to a consistently high technical and professional standard
Support the team with more complex technical cases where required
Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and consistency across the paraplanning function
Work closely with Financial Planners, Client Services and wider management teams
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an experienced paraplanning professional who has already gained team leadership, mentoring or management experience and is ready to take the next step in their career.
Importantly, candidates must have a genuine paraplanning background. This is not a role suited to someone who has moved entirely away from technical paraplanning, as the successful candidate will be expected to provide hands-on support to the team when required.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong previous experience within a paraplanning environment
Previous team leadership, mentoring or management experience
Excellent technical and report-writing skills
The confidence to manage and motivate a sizeable team
Strong organisational and workload-management skills
A collaborative and supportive leadership style
The ability to work effectively across multiple offices
A genuine interest in developing and supporting paraplanning professionals
Location & Working Pattern
Given that the majority of the team is based in Bristol, the preferred working arrangement would be for the successful candidate to be based from the Bristol office three days per week, with two days working from home.
The business would also consider a Cardiff-based candidate working two days per week from Cardiff and one day per week from the Bristol office, with the remainder working remotely.
What's on Offer
Salary of up to £65,000
Leadership responsibility for a team of approximately 16 paraplanners
Opportunity to influence and develop a growing paraplanning function
Hybrid working
Exposure across three offices within the South West
A role combining people leadership with hands-on technical paraplanning
The opportunity to make a genuine impact on team performance, development and service delivery
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Paraplanner or Paraplanning Team Leader looking to take ownership of a sizeable team while retaining a strong connection to the technical side of paraplanning.
