We're looking for a Design Engineer – Civils to join our River Infrastructure team based in Bristol. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.

Location: River Infrastructure, Bristol
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Are you…

• Experienced in design delivery
• Comfortable managing uncertainty and technical risk using your own judgement
• Able to learn and work in new areas with support from colleagues
• Possessing relevant postgraduate experience in the design of hydraulic structures, river engineering, or similar
• Holder of a Full driving licence

What will you be responsible for?

As a Design Engineer – Civils, you'll be working within the River Infrastructure team, supporting them in delivering infrastructure projects for clients including the Environment Agency, Severn Trent, and Mining Remediation Authority.

You'll be working collaboratively within a supportive team environment, contributing your expertise to develop safe, buildable solutions that achieve client goals. This role offers the chance to develop your career whilst working on meaningful projects that make a real difference to infrastructure and communities.

Your day to day will include:

• Reviewing and agreeing technical requirements of client remits, ensuring full understanding and challenging where necessary
• Organising and leading the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff within the design team, ensuring technical compliance
• Ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements and company policies, including CDM Regulations and design Quality Management Systems
• Contributing to financial and commercial management of projects including progress monitoring and change control
• Delivering alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance Kier's competitive position
