  • Own and define the quality engineering strategy across a growing digital delivery business.
  • Drive automation, AI-enabled testing and modern QA practices at scale.
  • Full Remote (UK) with flexibility, autonomy and genuine influence.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Senior/Lead QA to join a specialist digital delivery business that builds and supports complex ecommerce solutions for well-known brands. This is a newly created position where you'll have the opportunity to shape how quality is delivered across the organisation, combining strategic leadership with hands-on technical expertise. You'll work closely with delivery, development and QA teams to create smarter ways of working, improve release confidence and embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.

What experience you'll need to apply

  • Experience delivering both manual and automated testing within ecommerce environments.
  • Experience with Adobe Commerce/Magento or Shopify platforms.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks using Playwright.
  • Experience developing testing strategies, standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes and integrating automated testing into delivery pipelines.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting QA team members.
  • Experience with AI-assisted testing, exploratory testing or visual regression tools would be beneficial.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and modern engineering practices.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of the organisation's approach to quality engineering and automation, helping to create scalable testing practices that improve consistency, reduce risk and support high-quality delivery. A key focus will be leading the automation strategy, ensuring automated testing becomes a core part of delivery across multiple projects. You'll design, build and maintain test frameworks using Playwright, increase automated regression coverage and work closely with developers to integrate testing into CI pipelines.

You'll also explore and implement AI-supported testing approaches, visual regression testing and other modern QA techniques that improve efficiency and confidence. Alongside the strategic responsibilities, you'll remain hands-on in project delivery, supporting testing activities across ecommerce platforms, integrations and critical customer journeys. As a senior member of the team, you'll mentor colleagues, share best practice and help foster a quality-first culture where testing is considered from discovery through to release.

What you'll get in return for your experience

You'll be joining a remote-first business that values quality, collaboration and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to shape a growing quality engineering function, influence technical direction and introduce new approaches that have a genuine impact across the business. The package includes a competitive salary (£60-70K) quarterly bonus scheme, flexible working arrangements, a monthly wellbeing benefits allowance, enhanced family-friendly policies, pension contributions and generous holiday entitlement. You'll be trusted to manage your workload, contribute ideas and develop your career in an environment that values expertise, autonomy and long-term growth.
