We are looking for a Credit Controller to manage cash collections across multiple teams and maintain client accounts with skill and precision. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a professional services environment and is skilled in negotiation and client relations.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Responsible for cash collections for 20 billing teams.
• Manage allocated ledger and associated client accounts, using skill and judgement to achieve optimal results.
• Build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of clients, from private individuals to international corporations and public sector organisations.
• Work closely with fee earners to determine the most appropriate ways to resolve outstanding accounts and agree on payment terms.
• Refer accounts to debt recovery litigators when necessary and agreed upon with the Credit Control Manager.
• Maintain high standards of work by adhering to agreed systems and processes, providing support to colleagues as needed.
• Ensure compliance with professional rules and codes of practice, maintaining an ethical approach.
• Exercise discretion and judgement within established protocols, contributing to the team's effectiveness.
• Assist with ad hoc projects, reporting, administrative duties, and make recommendations to improve systems and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 GCSE passes at grade C or above (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
• At least 1 year of experience in credit control within a professional services or similar environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creation, data entry, formatting, and use of formulas.
• Strong understanding of human behaviour, with tactful and professional communication skills.
• Proven abilities in negotiation and influencing.
