Overview

Working in a residential environment, you will be carrying out general maintenance and repairs within an occupied residential village-style setting. Experienced in completing planned and reactive works while being mindful of residents, you will be maintaining a clean and safe working area and ensuring minimal disruption to daily living through courteous communication and good housekeeping.

This role is subject to the successful award of a new client contract. Recruitment activity is being undertaken in advance to support rapid mobilisation should the contract be secured. Any appointment will be conditional upon contract award and final client approval.

Role

The General Maintenance Operative is responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure buildings, facilities, and associated equipment are maintained in a safe, operational, and compliant condition. The role supports day-to-day site operations and contributes to maintaining a safe and well-presented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Painting & Decorating
  • Tiling
  • Minor plumbing/leak detection
  • Basic Carpentry
  • Water Hygiene tasks
  • Replacing door handles / doors
  • Keep logbooks up to date
  • Unblocking sinks/toilets
  • Changing lamps
  • Proactively identifying and reporting faults
  • Keeping a PDA up to date through our CAFM system and clients

Skills & Experience required

  • A good working knowledge of basic plumbing maintenance.
  • A good understanding of tiling and carpentry.
  • Must be able to show good handyman skills.
  • Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations regarding maintenance activities.
  • Full and clean driving licence (vehicle provided)

Qualifications

  • Evidence of relevant trade training or maintenance-related courses

  • A team player, able to work with the team and client’s representatives at all levels.
  • Comfortable working in environments that may include vulnerable people, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and appropriate conduct at all times.
