An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Category and Data Assistant within the UWE Procurement Team. This is a 12-month fixed-term appointment to cover maternity leave.

The role will support the Procurement team at UWE to fulfil its vision of delivering best value and service excellence to the university. Further information can be found in the attached Procurement Services Strategy overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Provision of procurement specialist advice and support to staff in colleges & services in relation to the procurement processes
  • To conduct tenders for supply of goods and services as required under public procurement frameworks, following all applicable legislation, including Public Procurement rules, Freedom of Information requests
  • Develop and deliver complex administrative support services. Including data extraction and presentation to support category management activities
  • Contribute to University projects using specialist procurement knowledge and/or lead short term projects within own service
  • To produce and update Procurement documentation including financial regulations, quarterly and annual Procurement reports
  • Build and maintain relationships with contacts in other services, colleges or external bodies including attending internal and external meetings

About You

To fulfil the requirements of this role, you will:

  • Possess good organisational skills and be able to demonstrate broad based administrative experience in a professional or specialist service in a large complex organisation.
  • Have excellent IT skills with experience of email, MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, data manipulation, E-procurement systems.
  • Have experience in working with procurement data and in extracting, analysing and interpreting data to produce reports and presenting information to others.
  • Have previous experience of running further competition tenders from frameworks or PCR2015 / PA23 knowledge.
  • Enjoy working in a busy role which provides great variety and an opportunity to promote the procurement function and to provide support to a wide range of university stakeholders.

This is a full -time, fixed-term post until October 2026, working 37.5 hours per week.

UWE Bristol is a campus-based University and it is vital to our success and the delivery of an outstanding experience for our students that our campuses are dynamic and vibrant places to learn and spend time. This role is therefore campus based for 3 days per week, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
