We currently have an exciting opportunity for a CAPEX Buyer based at our Filton site near Bristol. In this role, you will be part of a small team with the responsibility to develop and implement procurement strategies for a portfolio of CAPEX Goods and Services, with a focus on delivering most cost effective, high quality and sustainable solutions.
You will report to the indirect procurement operations manager, working alongside a wider global procurement function to share best practice and maximise synergies across the group. You will work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure delivery of optimum commercial outcomes that align to business needs.

How You’ll Contribute
Responsible For The Commercial Negotiation Of CAPEX Contracts Including
- Supplier sourcing using Curtis Fitch platform
- Facilitation of bids
- Negotiation of price
- Negotiation of terms and conditions to minimise GKN’s risk exposure
- Contract execution
- Risk mitigation and supplier performance management.
Essential
- Previous experience of CAPEX procurement activities
- Strong negotiation skills with proven track record of delivering results
- Excellent planning and organisation skills
- An excellent communicator, capable of building effective internal and external working relationships
- Experience of strategic and tactical sourcing
- Knowledge & experience of contract management
- Understanding of market trends and industry norms
- Ability to communicate with, relate to and influence a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally
- Understanding of key contract clauses and ability to negotiate to minimise business risk exposure
- SAP user experience
- CIPS Qualifications
- Educated to degree level
- Experience in risk management
- Proven track record of contract management and supplier relationship management
- Experience working within aerospace industry
