Structural Engineer

We are pleased to be working with an up and coming engineering consultancy in Bristol, to recruit a Structural Engineer for their specialist Bridge Engineering team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team and to be a key part of their success and growth. You will be working under the guidance of an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer, who will work very closely with you and will provide you with the perfect platform to develop quickly.

The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of bridge-related projects, supporting the delivery of both new infrastructure and the assessment and refurbishment of existing structures.

Our client offers a collaborative and technically focused environment, where learning and development are central to the team's ethos. This role would suit someone with a solid understanding of structural engineering principles, a keen interest in bridge design and assessment, and a desire to progress within a specialist team.

Key requirements:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering


• Must have post-grad structural design experience (ideally 4-6 years)


• A clear interest in bridge engineering


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Eagerness to learn and develop professionally

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct structural design and analysis using software, covering various structures and British standards and Eurocodes.


• Support the assessment, refurbishment, and strengthening of existing bridges and related infrastructure


• Prepare technical drawings, design calculations, specifications, and reports in line with project and client requirements


• Take a lead role in managing packages of work


• Assist in the management of the design process
