Established over 30 years ago, the company is a prominent presence within the civils sector and have a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects. Their portfolio includes highways, bridges, major earthworks, energy infrastructure and major commercial / industrial infrastructure projects.

ROLE:

• The ability to analyse project drawings, contracts, and specifications to determine scope, materials, and key requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to gather critical project data.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.

• Develop comprehensive bid packages, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and client proposals.
• Lead bid meetings and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Assess potential project risks and integrate contingency strategies into bids.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and suppliers.

• Utilize advanced construction estimating software and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

CANDIDATE:

• Strong understanding of heavy civils.
• Proven experience delivering winning bids for projects between £500k and £20m.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and support remote teams across different locations.
• Good knowledge of contractual frameworks, including NEC3 and NEC4.
• Experience in Bid Strategy, Risk Costing, and Project Programming.
• Several years of experience in civil engineering cost estimation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and MS Office Suite.
