Job Title: Process Safety Consultant

Salary range: £42,000 to £62,000 per annum

Location: Bristol/South-West is preferable but would consider any Frazer-Nash office as a base for the right candidate.

Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home if desired.

We are looking for an experienced process safety consultant to join our teams supporting existing clients and helping us grow into new workstreams in this important area.

You should expect to work across a range of industries and types of plant in the energy, chemical and process industries, and potentially any of the diverse sectors that we serve.

You should have a track record of safety assessment and safety management work in high-hazard industries. You will be expected to undertake project work for clients on, or in support of, complex and significant safety justifications, and lead other staff in planning and performing such work.

We would be delighted to hear from you if you meet some of the following requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of safety analysis, assessment and justification to chemical / process industry practices, including some or all:
  • Quantified Risk Assessment and the analyses that contribute to it.
  • Hazard Studies
  • Process Hazard Review (PHR)
  • Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
  • HAZID; HAZOP
  • Bowtie analysis
  • LOPA and SIL requirements determination
  • Assessments for DSEAR
  • Production of COMAH Safety Reports, and supporting assessments.
  • A degree, Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or another relevant STEM subject
  • Understanding of the UK regulatory/legal regime relating to safety management and safety assessments.

You must be happy to meet and work with clients, and to be constantly learning about new systems, new client projects.

You Should Have

  • Strong analytical thinking.
  • Rigorously clear and effective written communication; clearly articulating concepts, structures, arguments and specifications.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-­Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
