We are looking for an experienced Planning Manager to join a major UK infrastructure project.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Planner or an existing Planning Manager looking to take the next step in their career. You will lead the planning function, taking a hands-on approach to developing and managing project programmes, monitoring progress and ensuring successful delivery.

Working closely with project teams, subcontractors and senior stakeholders, you will drive programme performance, identify risks and develop mitigation strategies while supporting and developing other planners.

Candidates from construction, engineering, infrastructure or similar project environments are encouraged to apply. MEP experience would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, management and maintenance of detailed project programmes.
  • Coordinate planning resources, workloads and deliverables, ensuring consistent and accurate outputs.
  • Maintain planning standards, programme logic, baselines, coding and dependencies.
  • Lead progress reviews with delivery teams and subcontractors, validate progress, and challenge assumptions.
  • Undertake Critical Path Analysis, identify programme risks and manage potential delays.
  • Produce programme forecasts, look-ahead schedules and performance reports for project leadership.
  • Challenge sequencing, durations, productivity assumptions and delivery dates.
  • Develop and manage mitigation and recovery plans, agreeing actions and responsibilities.
  • Manage programme interfaces across disciplines, subcontractors and work packages.
  • Oversee baseline management and change control, ensuring accurate programme records.
  • Support resource planning, 4D planning and wider programme integration.
  • Support NEC programme submissions, including accepted programmes, early warnings and compensation events.
  • Present programme performance and key issues at project and management meetings.
  • Mentor and develop planners, reviewing outputs and promoting consistent planning standards.
