Accounts Payable Manager - #2188517

Robert Half Finance & Accounting are currently supporting a longstanding client who need an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join them for a period of 12 months on a fixed term contract basis.

Role: Accounts Payable Manager

Duration: 12 months

Start date: ASAP/Can wait for notice

Location: Central Bristol

Money: £45,000 - £50,000 (DOE)

Working hours & Hybrid: 37.5 hours weekly with flexible working hours and hybrid of 2-3 days per week in the office

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day running of AP function
• Line manage and support a small team, taking a hands-on approach and providing guidance and assistance where needed
• Oversee accounts payable processes across the business, ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing, supplier payments and account reconciliations
• Manage the accounts payable month-end close and prepare weekly creditor analysis reports
• Monitor team performance, KPIs and service levels, ensuring compliance with financial controls, policies and procedures
• Support petty cash analysis and the management of expenses
• Liaise with wider business teams to support financial operations and reporting.
• Build strong working relationships with Directors, Senior Executives and other key stakeholders.
• Support finance activities across multiple entities and international operations, working with relevant business partners as required.

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience managing an accounts payable team
• Proven line management experience, with a supportive and collaborative leadership style
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, financial controls and month-end procedures
• A hands-on approach, with a willingness to get involved in day-to-day activities when needed
• Ability to think on your feet, use initiative and respond effectively to changing priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including confidence dealing with Directors and Senior Executives

• Construction, property or professional services sector
• Supporting international finance operations
• Experience using Workday or similar ERP systems
