Interim Credit Control Support - #2187935

The role

A growing business in Bristol is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to provide immediate support to its Accounts Receivable function during a particularly busy period.
The finance team is managing significant business change alongside month-end, audit and ongoing systems activity. Following some recent movement within the AR team, they require somebody who can quickly take ownership of a portfolio and provide additional capacity across collections and customer accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of customer accounts and proactively collecting outstanding debt
• Making outbound calls and sending correspondence to customers regarding overdue balances
• Building strong relationships with customers to encourage prompt payment
• Monitoring aged debt and prioritising overdue accounts
• Investigating outstanding invoices, disputes and account discrepancies
• Working with internal teams to resolve queries preventing payment
• Maintaining accurate records of collection activity and customer correspondence
• Supporting cash allocation and ensuring customer accounts remain accurate
• Reconciling customer accounts where required
• Supporting month-end Accounts Receivable processes
• Providing additional AR support during a busy period of audit and business change

The ideal candidate

• Strong previous Credit Control / Accounts Receivable experience
• Confident managing their own debtor portfolio
• Comfortable working across a high volume of customer accounts
• Strong telephone manner and confident chasing outstanding debt
• Good understanding of aged-debt reporting and account reconciliation
• Able to investigate and resolve complex customer account queries
• Strong Excel and finance systems skills
• Able to work independently and hit the ground running
• Available immediately or at short notice
