Site Assistant/Caretaker

Location: Bristol
Rate: £15.06 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Temporary (Minimum 1 Month, Potential Temp-to-Perm Opportunity)

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Site Assistant to support a busy educational setting based in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or site management experience who enjoys a varied, hands-on role and takes pride in maintaining a safe and well-presented environment.

Initially offered on a temporary basis for at least one month, there is potential for the position to become longer-term or even permanent for the right individual.

Working Hours

• Monday: 7:00am - 3:00pm
• Tuesday - Thursday: 7:00am - 2:30pm
• Friday: 7:00am - 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and securing school premises at the beginning and end of the day
• Carrying out general caretaking and maintenance duties
• Undertaking minor repairs and basic DIY tasks
• Ensuring the site is safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained
• Liaising with and overseeing contractors working on site
• Conducting routine site checks and reporting any issues
• Assisting with health and safety compliance across the premises
• Supporting with room setups, site logistics, and general operational requirements
• Responding promptly to maintenance requests and site-related issues

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or a similar site-based role
• Is practical, hands-on, and able to use their initiative
• Has a strong awareness of health and safety procedures
• Is dependable, organised, and takes pride in their work
• Can work independently and manage competing priorities
• Has excellent communication skills when dealing with staff, contractors, and visitors
• Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to transport

Essential Requirements

• Enhanced DBS Certificate (an existing DBS will be considered while a new one is processed)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Available to start immediately
