Nursery Support Manager - Multi-Site Early Years

Location: Bristol / Somerset

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Great nurseries don't happen by accident. They're built by great people, led by exceptional managers, and supported by someone who knows how to bring out the best in both.

Are you an experienced Nursery Manager ready to take your leadership skills beyond one setting? Or perhaps you're already supporting multiple nurseries and looking for an opportunity where you can make a real impact?

We're working with a growing and well-established nursery group looking for a confident, commercially minded and passionate Nursery Support Manager to help shape the success of its settings.

This isn't a role where you'll be sitting behind a desk, looking at spreadsheets all day (although there will be a few of those!).

You'll be out in nurseries, working alongside teams, mentoring managers, celebrating successes and rolling up your sleeves when challenges arise.

One day you might be helping a new Nursery Manager find their feet. The next, you'll be supporting a setting through an Ofsted inspection, developing an action plan or identifying opportunities to improve occupancy.

No two days will look quite the same, and that's exactly what makes this opportunity exciting.

Nursery Support Manager - What will you be getting stuck into?

Be the support every great nursery needs.

  • Step into nurseries when additional leadership is needed, providing temporary management cover and keeping everything running smoothly.
  • Coach, mentor and develop Nursery Managers, helping them build confidence, strengthen their teams and achieve their potential.
  • Champion outstanding Early Years practice, safeguarding and EYFS standards, ensuring children receive the very best care and education.
  • Support nurseries with Ofsted preparation, quality improvement and maintaining excellent operational standards.
  • Get involved in recruitment, staff development, succession planning and creating positive working environments where people want to stay.
  • Bring your commercial head to the table, supporting occupancy growth, admissions, budgets and cost management.
  • Work closely with regional leadership and central support teams to tackle challenges, share ideas and drive improvements.
  • Be a reassuring, approachable presence for nursery teams and families, handling sensitive situations with professionalism and care.

Nursery Support Manager - Who are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who understands that running a successful nursery is about much more than meeting targets and ticking boxes.

It's about creating environments where children thrive, teams feel valued and managers have the confidence to succeed.

You'll ideally bring:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years (minimum), alongside strong knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
  • Proven Nursery Management experience, ideally within a nursery group or multi-site environment.
  • A genuine passion for coaching, mentoring and developing others.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, staffing costs and occupancy.
  • Confidence navigating challenging conversations, managing performance and making decisions.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach. You're equally comfortable discussing a P&L as you are supporting a busy nursery team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to different settings and situations.
  • A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel between nurseries.

Most importantly? You'll be someone who leads with empathy, isn't afraid to get stuck in and genuinely enjoys helping other people succeed.

Nursery Support Manager - What's in it for you?

Alongside a £45,000 salary, you'll be joining an established and growing nursery organisation that genuinely values its people.

You can expect:

  • A varied, rewarding role with the opportunity to influence multiple nursery settings.
  • Ongoing professional development and opportunities for career progression.
  • Generous annual leave.
  • Mental health and wellbeing support.
  • Life assurance.
  • Workplace pension.
  • A supportive operational leadership team.
  • The autonomy to bring your ideas to life and make a meaningful difference.

Ready to make a bigger impact?

If you've built a successful nursery, developed a fantastic team and are now wondering "What's next for me?", this could be exactly the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Whether you're an established multi-site leader or an experienced Nursery Manager ready to explore your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and take the next step in your Early Years leadership career.
