With flexible working options and ongoing support from our friendly local team, we’ll help you find opportunities that suit your availability and career goals.

The Role

As a Nursery Assistant, you will play an important part in supporting children's development and creating a positive early years environment. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting children's learning and development from birth to five years.

  • Assisting with daily nursery routines, including playtime, mealtimes and activities.

  • Creating a safe, happy and stimulating environment where children can thrive.

  • Encouraging learning through play, creativity and exploration.

  • Working alongside nursery staff to meet children's individual needs.

  • Supporting children with additional needs where required.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about working with children and are committed to providing high-quality care.

Our ideal candidates are:

  • Caring, patient, enthusiastic and reliable.

  • Interested in children's learning and development.

  • Confident communicating and working as part of a team.

  • Willing to learn, develop new skills and take on new challenges.

  • Experienced in childcare or early years education, although previous experience is not essential for many opportunities.

If you're considering a future career in childcare, teaching or education, this could be the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience.

What Team Educate Offers You

  • Competitive pay of £15–£16 per hour.

  • Flexible working to suit your availability.

  • Opportunities for both short-term and long-term placements.

  • Experience working across a variety of nursery settings.

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated, friendly local team.

  • Free training opportunities, including Level 2 Safeguarding in Education and Prevent Awareness.

  • Opportunities to develop your experience and progress within education.

At Team Educate, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to protecting children and young people and ensuring that every candidate we place is suitable to work in an educational setting.

Our safer recruitment process includes:

  • Enhanced DBS checks, including children's barred list checks where applicable.

  • Verification of identity, right to work in the UK and address history.

  • Professional reference checks covering at least the previous two years, in line with applicable requirements.

  • Employment and education history checks, including clarification of relevant gaps.

  • Verification of qualifications and training where applicable.

  • Interviews, including face-to-face or video interviews, to assess suitability and safeguarding awareness.

We also provide access to training to help candidates understand their safeguarding responsibilities, recognise potential signs of abuse or neglect, and know how to respond appropriately to concerns.

All candidates must successfully complete the relevant registration, compliance and safeguarding checks before beginning work.
