Are you a recent Graduate, seeking to kickstart you career in geotechnical engineering, with an opportunity that provides excellent development and progression opportunities?

On offer is the opportunity to join an established, independent geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering consultancy providing specialist ground investigation and site assessment services. Working with clients across the construction and development sectors, the company delivers projects covering ground conditions, environmental assessments and geotechnical investigations.

You will be responsible for supporting geotechnical and geo-environmental investigations from initial desk studies through to site works and technical reporting.

The first few months will involve training courses and development on soil and rock logging alongside phase 1 desk studies. Once training is completed you will assess site histories, coordinate and supervise ground investigations, undertake field testing and prepare interpretative reports.

The suitable candidate will have a degree in Geology or a relevant field.

The Role

• Undertake Phase 1 desk studies, reviewing historical land use and environmental information
• Assist with planning and coordinating geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations
• Supervise site investigation activities, including trial pits, window sampling and drilling operations
• Record and assess ground conditions, soil characteristics and site observations
• Prepare factual and interpretative geotechnical and geo-environmental reports
• Travel to project sites across the South Midlands and sometimes across the UK
• Monday to Friday, 9 - 5:30

The Person

• Degree in relevant field
• Full UK Driving License
