Permanent £85,000-£95,000 + Package

The Company:

We are working with a leading UK construction and regeneration contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team, based from either their Cardiff or Bristol office. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established business delivering a diverse portfolio of construction projects, with a strong focus on quality, collaboration and sustainable growth.

The Role:

As Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction process, taking responsibility for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of projects. Working closely with bid teams, commercial colleagues and operational teams, you will help develop robust pricing strategies and contribute to successful tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, tender pricing and bills of quantities for a range of construction projects.
• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings and specifications to identify project requirements, risks and opportunities.
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Working collaboratively with bid managers, quantity surveyors, planners and operational teams throughout the tender process.
• Identifying commercial risks, value engineering opportunities and alternative construction solutions.
• Supporting the development of tender strategies and presenting pricing proposals to senior stakeholders.
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Contributing to continuous improvement across estimating processes, systems and procedures.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator with a strong background in the construction industry and the ability to manage tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in an estimating role with a Tier 1 contractor
• A strong understanding of construction methods, procurement routes and commercial principles.
• Experience preparing estimates for medium to large-scale construction projects.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive, commercially minded approach and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
