Senior Building Surveyor - #2180508

An established property consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to its Bristol team.

The opportunity would suit someone who wants to retain the variety of Building Surveying while taking greater ownership of projects and client relationships. The workload combines professional Building Surveying with project-led work, with scope to develop further towards Associate level.

The Role

You will work across a broad range of Building Surveying instructions, with the opportunity to manage your own workload and work directly with clients. Typical work will include:

• JCT Contract Administration
• Refurbishment, maintenance and remedial projects
• Building surveys and condition surveys
• Defect diagnosis and building pathology
• Dilapidations
• Technical due diligence
• Specifications and schedules of works
• Tender documentation
• Managing projects from initial instruction through to completion
• Client and consultant management

The emphasis is on having a good balance of professional and project work, rather than becoming overly specialised in one area.

What They're Looking For

Ideally, you will be an MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor with consultancy experience, although experienced surveyors approaching chartership would also be considered.You'll ideally have:

• A Building Surveying or relevant property/construction degree
• MRICS status or be progressing towards chartership
• Experience within a consultancy or similarly client-facing environment
• A good grounding in professional Building Surveying
• JCT Contract Administration and/or project experience
• Refurbishment and remedial project experience
• Strong technical knowledge and an understanding of building pathology
• Confidence dealing directly with clients
• The ability to manage your own projects and workload
