About the Buyer Role

We’re looking for a motivated and organised Buyer to join a busy manufacturing environment in Bristol.

This is a great opportunity for someone with at least one year of purchasing experience who is looking to develop their skills, build strong supplier relationships and play an important role in supporting day-to-day operations.

You’ll be responsible for a range of purchasing and administrative activities, from obtaining supplier quotations and raising purchase orders through to tracking deliveries and resolving supplier queries. Working closely with internal departments, you’ll help ensure materials and components are delivered on time, at the right cost and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities in the Buyer role

  • Raising and managing purchase orders and sales orders.
  • Requesting, reviewing and processing supplier quotations.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Monitoring purchase orders and chasing suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Tracking supplier performance, including on-time delivery.
  • Liaising with internal teams to provide updates on part availability and delivery schedules.
  • Supporting changes to Bills of Materials (BoMs) where required.
  • Assisting with international orders, including relevant documentation and labelling.
  • Resolving supplier queries and purchase order issues.
  • Providing general purchasing and administrative support.

About You, as a Buyer

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • At least one year of purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

If you have purchasing experience and are looking for your next opportunity with career progression in mind, we’d love to hear from you!
