Location: Bristol (Office-Based) with UK-Wide Site Visits

Salary

£50,000 - £60,000 per annum + Car Allowance or Company Van

The Company

Our client is a well-established specialist fit-out and joinery contractor delivering fast-track retail projects for a range of high-profile clients across the UK. Their portfolio includes leading retail and leisure brands.

Due to continued growth they are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their Bristol office and play a key role in the successful delivery of multiple fast-paced retail fit-out projects.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of multiple retail fit-out and joinery projects simultaneously, typically ranging in value from £50,000 to £200,000.

Working closely with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role requires a hands-on manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing several live projects at once. The client is specifically seeking someone with experience in smaller, fast-track retail works rather than large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple retail fit-out and joinery projects concurrently across the UK.
• Oversee approximately 3-4 live sites at any one time, with the potential for more depending on project values and programme requirements.
• Lead project delivery from pre-start through to completion and handover.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor programmes and ensure works are completed within tight retail deadlines.
• Conduct regular site visits nationwide to ensure quality, safety, and programme compliance.
• Manage project costs and commercial performance alongside the commercial team.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve operational issues efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Build strong working relationships with both clients and site teams while maintaining a collaborative approach across the business.
• Deliver projects to the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Minimum 4 years' experience operating at Contracts Manager level.
• Proven track record delivering fast-track retail fit-out and joinery projects.
• Experience managing project values between £50,000 and £200,000.
• Demonstrable experience overseeing multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of retail refurbishment and fit-out environments.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across several sites.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel nationwide on a regular basis.
• Preferably a joinery background
• SMSTS, First Aid (preferably a CSCS Card)
