General Foreman – Civil Engineering & Highways
Location: Bristol
Salary: £51,000–£55,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance

RGB Recruitment is working with an established civil engineering contractor seeking an experienced General Foreman to join its site delivery team in Bristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on General Foreman with a strong background in highways and civil engineering to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of work.

The Role
As General Foreman, you will take responsibility for coordinating and supervising daily site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day site operations on highways and civil engineering projects.
• Supervise direct labour, subcontractors and specialist trades.
• Coordinate plant, labour, materials and resources.
• Work closely with Site Agents and Project Managers to maintain project programmes.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Deliver site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks.
• Monitor progress and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain accurate site records and daily reports.
• Ensure works are completed to the required specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a General Foreman or Senior Foreman within civil engineering or highways.
• Strong knowledge of highways construction and general civil engineering operations.
• Experience managing site teams, subcontractors and direct labour.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities and work to demanding programmes.
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
• Valid CSCS card.
• First Aid qualification desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
