Pre-Press & File Preparation

Location: Bristol

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Philtone Litho Limited is looking for a Reprographics Operator to join our pre-press team in Bristol.

The role involves checking and preparing customer-supplied artwork for commercial print production. Philtone uses a Heidelberg Prinect workflow, but experience with this particular system is not required.

We are looking for someone organised and accurate, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify file or production issues before work reaches the pressroom.

Key responsibilities

• Receiving and checking customer-supplied artwork.
• Pre-flighting and preparing files for lithographic print production.
• Preparing print-ready PDFs and imposed jobs.
• Checking bleed, trim, fonts, images, colour separations and overprint settings.
• Identifying and resolving artwork or file-preparation issues.
• Liaising with colleagues in production and other departments.
• Managing multiple jobs while working to production deadlines.
• Maintaining accurate job and file records.

About you

We would be interested in hearing from applicants with:

• Experience in commercial print, reprographics or pre-press.
• Experience using a professional pre-press workflow.
• A good understanding of print-ready PDFs and lithographic print production.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
• Good problem-solving and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A flexible and proactive approach to changing workloads.

Training on Philtone’s Heidelberg Prinect workflow will be provided where required.
