Principal Delivery Manager - #2173027

RedRock Consulting

Date: 1 hour ago
City: Bristol
Contract type: Full time
RedRock Consulting

The Principal Delivery Manager is a senior role within RedRock, accountable for the successful delivery of contracted professional services across a portfolio of technology engagements for our customers in both the public and private sectors. We build teams to either deliver a complete outsourced service or to blend with a customer team to enable a joint delivery.

Reporting directly into the CTO, you will be the most senior delivery voice on your accounts, owning delivery outcomes, senior client relationships and the commercial health of the engagements you lead. In addition to core delivery focus, you’ll work alongside our sales, pre-sales and leadership teams to shape, win and grow customer engagements, and play a leading role in maturing how RedRock delivers as we continue to grow.

In terms of technology delivery, it’s a hands-off role, but to be successful the Principal Delivery Manager must be deeply familiar with the technology delivery lifecycle, including agile and government-aligned delivery, and understand what clients need and what our teams are delivering. This role requires the rare mix of consultancy experience, programme and portfolio delivery, people leadership and senior stakeholder management, all within a technology landscape.

Overall customer ownership is shared across the Principal Delivery Manager, account manager, engagement lead and other senior members of the delivery team.

This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced delivery leader from a consultancy background who thrives on solving complex problems, building trusted client relationships and developing high-performing teams. RedRock is growing and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape our delivery function and take on more responsibility over time.

Experience Required

  • Consultancy experience: Minimum 10 years’ professional experience, including at least 5 years in a consultancy, professional services or digital agency environment, delivering technology change for external clients.
  • Public and private sector delivery: Proven track record of leading technology delivery for both public and private sector customers, with an understanding of how delivery, governance and procurement differ across each.
  • Senior delivery leadership: Experience leading complex, multi-team programmes or a portfolio of concurrent client engagements, using agile and hybrid approaches across the technology delivery lifecycle.
  • Senior stakeholder management: Demonstrable experience in a highly visible, client-facing role, building trusted relationships with stakeholders across many levels of an organisation, up to executive level.
  • Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of commercials and contracts, including SoW creation, estimation, budget and margin management, and contract renewals and extensions.
  • People leadership: Has line managed and developed people in an IT environment, ideally both permanent and contract, and has led hiring processes.
  • Governance and assurance: Experienced in managing risks and resolving issues and incidents with customers, and in building MI and reporting for clients and internal leadership.
  • Bid and tender writing: Experience writing delivery content for bids, tenders and RFPs, including methodology, approach and resourcing.

Salary £75,000 to £85,000 depending on experience
