The Opportunity

An established and growing regional contractor is seeking a Site Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of a project in North Bristol.

This role would particularly suit an Assistant Site Manager looking to take the next step in their career, or a Site Manager who enjoys being close to the delivery. The successful candidate will lead day-to-day site operations while also being prepared to adopt a hands-on approach where required to help drive programme, quality and productivity on site.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all on-site construction activities from commencement through to completion.
  • Lead and coordinate subcontractors, trades and site labour.
  • Monitor progress against programme and proactively resolve site issues.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and housekeeping.
  • Coordinate deliveries, logistics and material management.
  • Conduct site meetings, toolbox talks and progress reviews.
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and the wider project team.
  • Complete site reporting and project documentation.
  • Support site activities directly when required to ensure programme and quality targets are achieved.

About You

  • Experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager within a construction environment.
  • Background delivering new build and/or refurbishment projects.
  • Previous trade experience or time spent "on the tools" would be highly advantageous.
  • Comfortable taking a practical, hands-on approach when required.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site logistics.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors and site teams.
  • Organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple work fronts simultaneously.
  • Keen to develop and progress within a growing contractor.

Essential Requirements

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid at Work
  • Full UK Driving Licence

What's on Offer

  • Excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to step into a Site Manager position.
  • Long-term career progression within a growing regional contractor.
  • Varied project workload across Bristol and the South West.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment.
