Are you a commercially minded finance leader who thrives in complex project environments?

Do you enjoy partnering with senior stakeholders, influencing investment decisions and helping deliver major infrastructure programmes?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a large, regulated organisation embarking on a nationally significant programme of investment. As part of a newly established in-house team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and delivery of long-term strategic infrastructure projects that will have a lasting impact for decades to come.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional finance business partnering role.

Working at the heart of a major investment programme, you will act as the key link between project delivery teams and the wider finance function, providing financial insight, challenge and governance throughout the lifecycle of large-scale infrastructure projects.

You'll partner with programme, commercial, regulatory and treasury stakeholders, helping to drive robust decision-making, assess investment options and ensure projects remain financially sustainable and strategically aligned.

The role offers a rare opportunity to combine strategic business partnering, financial modelling, investment appraisal and programme finance within a high-profile, long-term infrastructure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior finance partner to a major strategic programme.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial governance activities.
  • Develop and review financial models, scenario analysis and investment appraisals.
  • Support business cases, procurement activity and key investment decisions.
  • Provide clear financial insight and challenge to senior leadership teams.
  • Ensure regulatory, commercial and financial considerations are aligned.
  • Evaluate project risks, opportunities and affordability throughout delivery.
  • Produce high-quality reporting and analysis for executive and governance boards.

About You

We're keen to hear from qualified finance professionals who combine strong technical capability with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills.

You may currently be operating within:

  • Infrastructure
  • Construction
  • Utilities
  • Defence
  • Transport
  • Engineering
  • Major capital programmes or large-scale transformation environments

Essential Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven finance business partnering experience within a complex environment.
  • Strong financial modelling and investment appraisal capability.
  • Experience supporting major projects, programmes or capital investments.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex information into clear commercial recommendations.
  • Comfortable operating within governance, control and assurance frameworks.

Package

  • Salary circa £90,000
  • £9,000 car allowance
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Private medical insurance
  • Generous holiday allowance with the option to buy and sell additional leave
  • Share save scheme
  • Hybrid working
