Financial Controller - Projects - #2170113

Robert Half is working with a fast-growing, acquisitive group to appoint a Financial Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The group has grown through acquisitions and on its own and is going through a large transformation project.

• Financial Controller - Transformation & Projects (12-month FTC)
• Bristol
• Hybrid (3 days on site)
• £75,000 - £95,000 + 10% bonus
• Start date: December 1st or January 1st

You'll report to senior finance leadership and look after a portfolio of businesses while they go through this transformational change. The job combines core financial control with hands-on transformation work:

• Delivering month end, management accounts and forecasting within group deadlines
• Supporting a new cloud ERP rollout
• Keeping the balance sheet sound through monthly reconciliations and reviews
• Preparing budgets and forecasts for P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
• Managing the annual audit with the external auditors
• Leading a small finance team
• Turning commercial reporting from Excel into supported system solutions
• Improving commercial insight and supporting the evaluation of new business initiatives

You'll also get exposure to IT, projects, commercial finance, customs and VAT/tax.

About you:

• Degree-educated and ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, with 5+ years' post-qualification experience
• Background in a large or complex organisation; any sector considered
• Experience managing a team
• Experience of system implementation; Business Central, NAV or similar is a plus
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Adaptable and hands-on, and comfortable working through change with little direction
• Good at building relationships across finance and the wider business
