Cole & Yates Recruitment Ltd

A growing technology-led organisation is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join its Bristol-based product team and work closely with colleagues across Product, Marketing, Sales and Customer Success.

This is a broad, relationship-led role for someone who can learn how a range of technical products and services work, understand what matters to customers and translate that knowledge into clear positioning, value propositions, messaging, market insight, technical content and useful sales-enablement materials.

You do not need to arrive as the deepest technical expert. Training and support will be provided to help you build detailed product and sector knowledge. What matters is that you are a strong communicator, interested in technology, able to learn quickly and comfortable building trusted working relationships across different teams and locations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building a strong understanding of the organisation’s products, services, customers and market.
  • Carrying out structured customer, competitor and market research.
  • Creating and improving product positioning, value propositions, buyer personas, use cases and messaging.
  • Translating complex product and technical information into clear content for different audiences.
  • Producing sales-enablement materials, including pitch decks, one-pagers, FAQs and product documentation.
  • Supporting product launches through audience definition, messaging, proof points and competitor insight.
  • Monitoring market, regulatory and sector developments and identifying their implications.
  • Working across Product, Marketing, Sales and Customer Success to improve communication and commercial understanding.
  • Identifying customer stories, case studies, campaign themes and market opportunities.

The role is based in Bristol and offers hybrid working from the start, with a minimum of three days in the office each week. Normal working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm.

The salary is £40,000 to £50,000, depending on experience. Candidates towards the lower end of the range may come from a broader marketing background and be developing into product marketing. Candidates towards the top end are likely to offer stronger direct product-marketing experience, more relevant product or sector knowledge and the ability to contribute with less initial support.

This vacancy is being managed confidentially by Cole & Yates Recruitment. Full company and opportunity details will be explained during the initial recruitment conversation.

Requirements

  • Experience in product marketing, technical marketing, proposition, go-to-market, product communications, sales enablement or market insight.
  • Alternatively, broader marketing experience supported by strong examples of product-led work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing product positioning, value propositions or messaging.
  • Customer, competitor or market research experience.
  • Experience supporting product launches or go-to-market activity.
  • Ability to translate technical or complex information into clear commercial messages.
  • Experience creating technical, product or sales-enablement content.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across Product, Marketing, Sales and Customer Success.
  • Interest in technology and the ability to learn unfamiliar products and markets quickly.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the confidence to bring structure to broad or initially ambiguous work.
  • Experience within technology, professional services or another complex or regulated B2B environment would be useful but is not essential.
  • A full driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to another company office, industry events and customer or installation sites.
  • Ability to attend the Bristol office for a minimum of three days each week.

  • Benefits

  • Salary of £40,000 to £50,000, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working from the start.
  • Normal working hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm.
  • 33 days’ holiday including bank holidays.
  • Enhanced parental leave.
  • Discretionary company-wide bonus.
  • Perkbox benefits.
  • Three days’ volunteering/CSR.
  • Paid business travel expenses.
  • Training and support to develop detailed product and sector knowledge.
