Shape the future of protective security on some of the UK's most challenging and prestigious projects.

Join Tetra Tech's specialist security consultancy team, where your technical expertise and leadership will help deliver innovative, risk-informed security solutions across the built environment. Work alongside experienced, professionally registered specialists on complex, high-profile projects that make a real difference.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As an Associate / Associate Director Security Consultant, you'll lead the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary security projects across diverse sectors, combining technical excellence with strategic leadership.

You'll oversee project resources, support operational performance and provide trusted technical guidance to clients and colleagues, ensuring consistently high standards of delivery.

Your Impact in this position

You'll play a pivotal role in shaping security strategies, driving technical innovation and strengthening client relationships. By mentoring senior consultants, influencing project outcomes and identifying new business opportunities, you'll help develop our people, capabilities and growing security consultancy.

Your 5 Core Capabilities

  • Technical Security Expertise: Apply your knowledge of protective security design, electronic security systems and security operations to deliver effective solutions, particularly across UK Government and MoD environments.
  • Security Risk Management: Lead threat and risk assessments using ISO 31000 principles, translating complex security challenges into practical, proportionate solutions aligned with Secured by Design.
  • Project & Operational Leadership: Direct multidisciplinary projects through the RIBA Plan of Work, managing resources, technical specifications, quality assurance and delivery performance.
  • Client Engagement & Business Development: Build trusted relationships, translate client requirements into clear security briefs and contribute to new opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • People Leadership & Technical Innovation: Mentor Principal Consultants, champion professional development and collaborate with National Technical Authorities to advance technical standards and innovation.

Qualifications & Experience

You'll bring substantial built environment security consultancy experience, ideally supported by a relevant degree and chartered professional status. Strong technical reporting, stakeholder communication and multidisciplinary project leadership skills are essential.

You must be a sole UK national, eligible for UKSV SC clearance and willing to undergo DV vetting. Existing clearance is advantageous.

Working Environment

We offer hybrid working, combining office, project-site and remote working. You'll be expected to attend an office or project site up to three days per week, with flexibility around project requirements.

UK-wide travel will be required to support clients and project delivery.
