Your new roleAre you a commercially minded Financial Controller looking for the opportunity to make a real impact within a growing business?We're recruiting for an exciting Bristol-based start-up that is entering its next stage of growth and looking for an experienced Financial Controller to take ownership of its day-to-day finance function.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment where you can get involved across the numbers, improve processes and help shape how finance supports future growth.

The role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the financial control and reporting of the business while providing valuable commercial insight.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Ownership of the monthly management accounts and month-end close
• Managing cash flow, forecasting and working capital
• Leading budgeting and financial planning processes
• Maintaining strong balance sheet controls and reconciliations
• Managing statutory reporting, tax and audit requirements
• Developing financial controls, processes and reporting as the business grows
• Providing insightful analysis to support commercial decision-making
• Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business
• Improving the use of financial systems and management information
• Supporting wider strategic and commercial projects
• Helping to build a scalable finance function capable of supporting future growth

What you'll need to succeed

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Experienced within a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance position
• Strong across management accounting, financial reporting, controls and cash flow
• Commercially minded and comfortable working closely with senior leadership
• Confident improving processes rather than simply maintaining them
• Comfortable operating within a fast-paced, changing environment
• Naturally hands-on and happy to get into the detail when needed
• Excited by the opportunity to help build and develop a finance function
