Project Controls Specialists
Bristol | Permanent | £40K to £75K depending on role and level
If your Project Controls background is built around hands-on planning, risk, cost, EVM etc., I am recruiting across several permanent opportunities supporting complex UK defence programmes.
You do not need to cover every discipline. You can be a specialist or a project controls generalist.

What we are looking for
Defence experience is particularly important for a number of the current opportunities. Closely related backgrounds such as aerospace, maritime or nuclear may also be relevant depending on the role.
These positions are not aimed at Project Managers or PMO professionals whose experience is primarily governance, coordination or reporting without hands-on Project Controls capability.
Security requirements
Applicants must be British nationals and able to meet the relevant UK security clearance requirements.
Dual nationals may be considered. Some opportunities require dual-national candidates to already hold current SC clearance so exact eligibility will depend on the individual role.
Location
The campaign is focused on Bristol but roles are also available in other areas of the southwest and South Wales.
Salary
£40K to £75K, depending on the opportunity, discipline and level.
Individual vacancies have their own salary bands so we can discuss which options best fit your experience and expectations.

- Integrated Project Controls Specialists
- Project Planning and Scheduling
- Project Risk Management
- Project Cost Control and Cost Engineering
- Project Controls and performance analysis
- Junior and developing Project Controls positions for candidates with genuine hands-on experience in planning, risk or cost
- More experienced specialist and consultancy roles across different levels
Depending on your discipline, your experience could include
- Creating, maintaining and analysing project schedules
- Baseline management, Critical Path Analysis and change control
- Schedule Risk Analysis and project performance assessment
- Identifying, assessing and managing project risks and opportunities
- Facilitating risk reviews and supporting quantitative risk analysis
- Cost control, forecasting, EAC and variance analysis
- Earned Value Management and wider project performance reporting
- Working with delivery teams and stakeholders in complex regulated project environments
What we are looking for
- Hands-on capability in at least 1 Project Controls discipline
- Practical evidence of producing and using Project Controls information rather than simply reporting it
- Experience working within complex projects or programmes
- Relevant tool experience connected to real project activity
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain what project information means for delivery
