An established and growing engineering and manufacturing business in the Bristol area is looking to recruit an experienced Welder to join its skilled workshop team. This is a hands-on position working on a variety of sheet metal fabrication projects, supporting the production of high-quality fabricated components and assemblies.

This role would suit a Welder with strong MIG welding and fabrication experience who enjoys working from engineering drawings and taking projects through the full fabrication process.

Key Responsibilities

  • MIG welding sheet metal and steel sections.
  • Measuring, cutting, folding, fitting, and fabricating metal components.
  • Fabrication of sheet steel and sections ranging from 1mm to 10mm thickness.
  • Operating fabrication machinery including guillotines and press brakes.
  • Carrying out manual cutting using plasma and flame-cutting methods.
  • Modifying, repairing, and fabricating replacement metal components when required.
  • Using a variety of handheld and powered tools to complete fabrication activities.
  • Ensuring all work is completed to high quality and safety standards.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a Welder or Fabricator Welder position.
  • Strong sheet metal fabrication experience.
  • Proven MIG welding skills.
  • Ability to accurately read measurements and work to specifications.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • General engineering or manufacturing background.
  • CNC machine operation experience would be advantageous.
