Graduate Security Consultant / Penetration Tester | Bristol | £28,000-£34,000

About the role

Our client is looking for a motivated graduate to join a cyber consultancy team in Bristol, beginning a career in security consulting and penetration testing with structured mentorship and training from day one.

This is a genuine entry point into the industry, with exposure to real client engagements and a clear path to develop into a penetration tester or security consultant.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out security assessments and vulnerability scans across client systems, networks and application.
• Take part in penetration testing engagements under guidance and supervision, helping identify and exploit vulnerabilities in client environments.
• Analyse security risks and contribute to recommendations to help clients strengthen their security posture.
• Keep up to date with relevant security regulations and compliance standards and support clients in meeting them.
• Produce clear, well-structured reports covering findings, assessments and recommended actions.
• Communicate findings to clients in an accessible way, including to non-technical stakeholders.
• Support incident response activities and handling procedures.
• Continuously develop knowledge of security tools, techniques and emerging trends.

Requirements

• Experience with Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap or other security testing tools.
• Bachelor's degree, ideally in a STEM subject.
• Genuine interest in and understanding of technology and information security concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Comfortable working independently on client sites and as part of a wider team.
• Strong appetite to learn and develop technically.

Desirable

• Relevant certifications, projects or internships in cyber security or computer science.
• Interest in developing a career in penetration testing or security consulting.
