Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Procurement Officer on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement commercial strategies for approval and support contracts.
- Support and develop new contract documentation including seeking legal support and advice as required.
- Lead the preparation and negotiation of contracts for acquisition and support phases.
- Apply for and progress approvals via CAMS.
- Engage with other teams to align procurement activities with policies and guidelines.
- Identify and assess the need for exemptions from standard procurement processes.
- Prepare exemption packs, including justifications, for submission.
- Prepare ITT and ITN documentation in accordance with guidance and procedures.
- Manage the tendering process, including drafting and issuing invitations to tender.
- Prepare and post notices and ensure compliance with the relevant procurement regulations.
- Evaluate supplier bids and proposals, ensuring alignment with project objectives and value for money.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure optimal outcomes.
- Provide commercial advice and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the acquisition and support phases.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of commercial activities and progress to senior stakeholders.
- Support the development of business cases and approval documentation for projects.
- Support contract amendments and variations as required.
- Conduct post-contract award reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in high level procurement is essential.
- Experience working in high compliance sectors.
- Experience managing end-to-end procurement exercises and providing procurement advice.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Current SC Clearance.
