Job Description
We are looking to expand our growing team with an individual who demonstrates a strong combination of Defence nuclear-domain awareness, Weapons Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (WOME) engineering competence, and safety and assurance expertise. Day to day, you will work with clients providing high quality specialist consultancy services. You will use your engineering knowledge and experience to deliver critical support to defence programmes, with a focus on the operation, through-life support and assurance of complex systems.

Due to the nature of the work that the Occam Group undertake, you must be a sole UK national in order to apply. You will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.

Day to day, you will work with clients providing high quality specialist consultancy services. You will use your engineering knowledge and experience to deliver critical support to defence programmes, with a focus on the operation, through-life support and assurance of complex systems.
Duties to include
- Author, review of safety management plans and safety cases, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
- Undertaking detailed hazard and risk analyses
- Deriving, and demonstrating compliance with safety requirements.
- Providing domain support to WOME integration activities
- Supporting OME certification and qualification strategies and programmes
Essential Requirements
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) preferably in a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Defence
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Defence nuclear safety management.
- Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory requirements applied within the Defence nuclear domain and to WOME.
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer focused and able to develop strong relationships and understand problems
- Experience of working in teams and developing others
- Chartered Engineer Status working towards chartership
- Consultancy experience
- SC and / or DV security clearance
