Salary: £50,000 to £65,000

FC Engineering is working with an established engineering and manufacturing business in Bristol who are looking to appoint an experienced QHSE Manager.

This is an important role within the business, taking responsibility for quality, health, safety and environmental management, ensuring products, processes and working practices meet the required standards.

The role will suit a QHSE professional who enjoys being hands-on and working closely with engineering, manufacturing and operational teams to improve quality performance, maintain a safe working environment and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day-to-day quality, health, safety and environmental functions
• Maintaining and developing the company's management systems, policies and procedures
• Ensuring compliance with relevant quality standards, health and safety legislation and environmental requirements
• Managing internal and external audits and following through on improvement actions
• Carrying out risk assessments and supporting safe systems of work
• Investigating incidents, near misses and non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions
• Carrying out root-cause analysis and driving continuous improvement
• Supporting customer and supplier quality requirements
• Working closely with engineering, manufacturing and production teams
• Monitoring QHSE performance and identifying areas for improvement
• Developing and maintaining QHSE procedures, documentation and records
• Delivering training and guidance to improve QHSE awareness across the business
• Supporting waste reduction, pollution prevention and environmental improvement initiatives
• Promoting a positive safety culture and consistent quality standards throughout the business

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a QHSE Manager, SHEQ Manager, HSEQ Manager or similar role
• Experience within engineering, manufacturing or a technical product environment
• Strong knowledge of quality, health, safety and environmental management systems
• Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• A NEBOSH qualification or equivalent relevant health and safety qualification
• Experience managing internal and external audits
• Good understanding of risk assessments, incident investigation and safe systems of work
• Experience with non-conformance management, root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Strong knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental compliance requirements
• Experience working with customers and suppliers on quality matters
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• A practical, hands-on approach to QHSE management
