Technical Manager – Asbestos Consultancy

Golden Fox Recruitment are partnered with a well-established UKAS-accredited asbestos consultancy looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead on quality and technical compliance across the business.

This is a senior appointment with genuine influence. Working closely with the Directors and wider teams, you’ll help ensure technical standards remain high, accreditation requirements are met and the company’s quality systems continue to develop alongside the business.

The role would suit someone with a strong asbestos background who has progressed into technical management, UKAS, auditing and quality compliance.

The Role

You’ll take responsibility for the company’s Integrated Management System and wider technical compliance, including:

• Maintaining the systems and standards supporting UKAS accreditation
• Managing internal technical audits, inspections and compliance reviews
• Supporting external UKAS assessments and accreditation activity
• Monitoring technical performance and identifying areas for improvement
• Managing non-conformances and ensuring corrective actions are completed
• Maintaining technical procedures, policies and quality documentation
• Ensuring regulatory and industry changes are reflected in working practices
• Providing technical guidance and supporting staff competency and development
• Working with senior management to continually improve quality, safety, environmental and technical standards

About You

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong experience within asbestos consultancy
• Previous responsibility for technical, quality or compliance management
• Experience working within a UKAS-accredited organisation
• Good knowledge of Integrated Management Systems
• Experience with technical auditing and external assessments
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17020, ISO 17025, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
• Strong knowledge of asbestos legislation and industry guidance
• Relevant asbestos and/or auditing qualifications
• A full UK driving licence

CoCA, CCP or a comparable higher level qualification would be ideal, but isn’t essential for someone with the right technical and compliance experience.

Package

Salary from £60,000 +, negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
