Territory Sales Representative – Wood

Location: Territory Based – Southwest

This is a large territory and the role involves extensive travel and customer visits. Depending on the candidate's location and the requirements of the territory, overnight stays may occasionally be required.

Candidates should ideally be based within the territory, with locations such as Bristol, Clevedon or Weston-super-Mare offering good access across the wider patch.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Territory Sales Representative to join the Wood division of an established machinery and equipment business.

This is a field-based role covering a large territory across Dorset, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Avon, Oxfordshire, South Wales and the West Midlands.

You will develop existing customer relationships, generate new business and manage the full sales cycle across the territory, from prospecting and customer visits through to quotation, negotiation and order.

Key Responsibilities

• Sell woodworking machinery, products and solutions across the territory
• Develop existing accounts and identify new business opportunities
• Generate leads through prospecting, networking and customer visits
• Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry through to order
• Prepare quotations and negotiate commercial terms
• Maintain accurate CRM records and manage the sales pipeline
• Work closely with Technical, Service, Customer Support and Finance teams
• Attend customer meetings, exhibitions and networking events
• Achieve agreed sales and gross margin targets

About You

• Previous field-based sales or business development experience
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Proven ability to develop new business
• Commercial and customer-focused approach
• Good organisation and time management skills
• Experience using CRM systems
• Full UK driving licence
• Comfortable with extensive travel across the territory

Experience within woodworking machinery, manufacturing, engineering or technical equipment would be advantageous.
