Project Engineer / Project Manager – Power & Infrastructure

Location: Bristol preferred / UK-wide projects
Salary: £75,000+ dependent on experience
Car Allowance: £6,000 per annum

The Opportunity

LG Project Consultancy Ltd are recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist business operating across the Power, High Voltage and Renewable Energy infrastructure sectors.

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer / Project Manager to play a key role in delivering major UK-wide power infrastructure projects.

Projects will predominantly involve HV substations, grid connections and BESS projects across 11kV, 33kV, 66kV and 132kV.

The ideal candidate will be Bristol based, although UK-wide applicants will be considered where they are comfortable with regular UK travel and working away when required.

This opportunity would suit an established Project Manager or a technically strong Project Engineer looking to progress into a broader project management position.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and/or support HV power infrastructure projects from mobilisation through to completion.
• Work across 11kV, 33kV, 66kV and 132kV substation projects.
• Support the delivery of BESS and grid connection projects.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and engineers.
• Assist with project programmes, budgets, resources and delivery schedules.
• Monitor progress and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification.
• Liaise with clients, DNOs, principal contractors and consultants.
• Coordinate electrical, civil, cable installation and associated infrastructure works.
• Assist with procurement and subcontractor management.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
• Attend project and client meetings.
• Maintain project documentation, RAMS, quality records and handover information.
• Support testing, commissioning, energisation and project close-out.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have experience within the Power, HV, Utilities, Substation, Electrical Infrastructure or Renewable Energy sectors.

Experience across some of the following would be highly beneficial:

• 11kV / 33kV / 66kV / 132kV substations
• High Voltage infrastructure
• Grid connections
• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• HV cable installation
• Primary and secondary substations
• Switchgear and transformers
• Protection and control
• Substation civils
• DNO / utility projects
• Renewable energy infrastructure

Candidates can come from either a Project Engineering or Project Management background, provided they have strong technical knowledge and relevant power infrastructure experience.

You should be organised, commercially aware and confident dealing with clients, contractors and site teams, with the ability to take ownership of projects and drive delivery.

Location & Travel

Bristol is preferred, however UK-wide applicants will be considered for the right experience.
