VAT Tax Senior manager - #2153587

An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced VAT Manager to join its specialist tax team.

The role offers a broad mix of VAT advisory, compliance and transaction-focused work, working with a varied portfolio of middle-market businesses across a range of sectors.

You'll work closely with clients to understand their challenges and provide practical, commercially focused VAT advice.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of corporate clients and acting as a trusted point of contact

• Providing clear and commercially focused VAT advice

• Supporting clients with complex and time-sensitive VAT issues

• Delivering advisory projects from initial scoping through to completion

• Carrying out VAT due diligence and risk-focused reviews

• Researching legislation and applying technical VAT knowledge to client situations

• Working with colleagues across the wider tax and advisory teams

• Building and maintaining strong long-term client relationships

• Supporting the development of junior members of the team

The ideal candidate will have:

• CTA qualification or equivalent strong technical VAT experience

• Broad VAT experience across a range of sectors

• Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients

• Experience delivering VAT advisory projects

• Exposure to VAT due diligence would be advantageous

• Strong technical research and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex matters clearly

• A commercial and client-focused approach

This is a varied VAT role with exposure to advisory work, due diligence and complex middle-market projects, rather than being focused solely on routine compliance.
