JavaScript Developer - React / TypeScript

Ncounter is supporting a growing technology consultancy delivering digital transformation programmes across law enforcement, public safety and wider government. We are looking for an experienced Frontend Developer who can combine strong hands-on engineering with the confidence to work in a consulting environment, helping turn complex operational challenges into intuitive digital services.

You will work alongside consultants, architects and engineers, contributing from early discovery and prototyping through to the development of secure, production-ready applications. The work is varied and highly user-focused, often supporting organisations where accessibility, security and the ability to make better use of information are critical.

The role:

• Design and build modern web applications using React, TypeScript and JavaScript
• Develop dashboards, data-rich interfaces and intuitive user journeys for complex operational environments
• Work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and shape practical solutions
• Integrate applications with REST APIs, authentication services and wider enterprise platforms
• Produce prototypes and proof-of-concepts to test ideas and support consultancy engagements
• Contribute to testing, code reviews, CI/CD and engineering standards across delivery teams

Your background:
• Strong commercial experience developing applications with React and TypeScript
• Excellent JavaScript, HTML and CSS fundamentals, including responsive and accessible design
• Experience building secure applications and integrating frontend services with APIs
• Strong testing experience, ideally including Jest and React Testing Library
• Comfortable working with Git-based development, CI/CD and modern engineering practices
• Experience within consultancy, government, law enforcement or similarly complex environments would be particularly valuable

Exposure to technologies such as Entra ID, MSAL, Keycloak, Redux, React Router, Tailwind CSS, Docker, GitHub Actions or data visualisation would be useful.

Candidates must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
