Fire Alarm Engineer Bath and Bristol - £33k-£42k plus overtime and additional benefits
We are working with an established fire and security company that is looking to strengthen its engineering team across Bath and Bristol.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, is confident diagnosing faults and understands the importance of maintaining reliable fire and life safety systems.

You will be joining a business with an established customer base, a supportive service team and a genuine commitment to maintaining high standards across its work.

What you will be doing

This is a mobile, service-focused position with responsibility for:

• Carrying out planned servicing and maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems.

• Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs.

• Undertaking smaller installation works and system upgrades.

• Responding to emergency call-outs when required.

• Providing technical advice and support to customers.

• Completing service reports, job cards and compliance documentation.

• Identifying opportunities to improve the safety and reliability of customers' systems.

• Working in accordance with BS 5839 and other relevant industry standards.

• Supporting the wider service team to ensure customer requirements are met.

• Participating in the out-of-hours technical support or call-out rota.

The experience we are looking for

Ideally, you will have:

• Around two to three years' experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm or life safety systems.

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

• A sound understanding of fire detection and alarm systems.

• Knowledge of relevant compliance standards, including BS 5839.

• Experience completing accurate technical and service documentation.

• The ability to work independently and take responsibility for customer sites.

• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

• A full UK driving licence.

Industry-recognised fire and life safety qualifications would be desirable, along with an 18th Edition qualification.

You will also need to be able to satisfy the requirements for an enhanced DBS check.
