Civil Engineer

Location: Bristol (Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office)
Rate: £40-£45 per hour
Contract Length: Initial 6 months

Are you a Civil Engineer with a strong background in infrastructure design looking for your next contract opportunity in Bristol?

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join an established consultancy team on an initial 6-month contract.

The role will suit a hands-on engineer with around 4-5 years' experience who is comfortable working across a range of civil engineering design disciplines. You will be involved in a varied workload across residential, commercial, industrial, warehouse and laboratory developments.

This is a design-focused position with a particular emphasis on drainage, highways and earthworks. The team works closely together in the office, so you will need to be comfortable working from the Bristol office a minimum of three days per week.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver civil engineering designs across a range of development projects.
· Produce drainage and sustainable drainage designs and calculations.
· Undertake highways, external works and infrastructure design.
· Develop earthworks, levels and site grading designs.
· Produce and coordinate drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
· Undertake drainage modelling and design using InfoDrainage.
· Coordinate civil engineering designs with other disciplines and external consultants.
· Produce technical design information throughout different stages of projects.
· Provide technical input and support to project teams.
· Work collaboratively with other engineers to resolve design and coordination issues.

About You

· Around 4-5 years' experience within civil engineering and infrastructure design.
· Strong design experience across drainage, highways and/or earthworks.
· Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
· Experience using InfoDrainage.
· Comfortable producing and developing designs independently.
· Previous experience working within an engineering consultancy environment would be advantageous.
· Experience across residential, commercial or industrial development projects would be beneficial.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline would be preferred.
· Able to work from the Bristol office three days per week.
