I'm currently working with a leading multidisciplinary property consultancy that is looking to add a Town Planner to its Bristol team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planner looking to take the next step in their career, joining an established consultancy with a varied project portfolio and the opportunity to work alongside experienced planning professionals. The role offers exposure to a broad range of clients and development schemes, while providing plenty of scope for professional and career development.

The Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a range of planning projects, with a key focus on the preparation and submission of planning applications. Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and submitting planning applications.
• Managing planning applications from initial instruction through to determination.
• Providing planning advice to clients and supporting development proposals.
• Preparing planning appraisals and undertaking policy research.
• Liaising with clients, local authorities, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Attending site visits, meetings and planning committees where required.
• Supporting senior colleagues and contributing to the delivery of a varied project portfolio.

About You

• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related subject.
• Relevant experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or similar environment.
• Good knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy.
• Experience preparing and submitting planning applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.
• A proactive and commercially minded approach.
• Ideally working towards or already holding MRTPI status.
