Financial Controller - #2145042

Robert Half are working in exclusive partnership with DEEP Manufacturing to recruit a newly created Financial Controller position on a permanent basis to be based in Avonmouth, Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapid scale business, built from a much needed innovation within the manufacturing space. Reporting to the CFO, you will play an active role in the building of processes, controls and systems alongside people as the business grows - this role will build the foundation of a finance function in a fast paced environment.

The Financial Controller position will play a pivotal role in establishing the finance function for DEEP Manufacturing as it transitions to a standalone entity from the group structure. You will deliver robust day-to-day finance activities whilst actively driving new and improved processes and systems.

When DEEP set out to , it found traditional manufacturing processes fell short on total cost, lead times and material waste. DEEP Manufacturing was launched to . Today, its capacity and capability in large metal part production is offered to other customers in any industry, anywhere in the world.

The Financial Controller Role…

• Own the monthly management accounts process and associated reporting
• Balance Sheet control and reconciliations
• Preparation of statutory accounts and support the audit process
• Assist with transfer pricing and intercompany arrangements
• Support with VAT, corporation tax and other tax requirements with support of external providers
• Business partnering with non-finance stakeholders within the manufacturing space guiding on performance, productivity, inventory, stock control, labour efficiency and CAPEX
• Own standard costing, inventory accounting and WIP
• Build scalable finance processes, ERP optimisation and adoption of necessary tools for a best in class function
• As the business scales, recruit and develop a purpose built team offering clear routes for progression

About you…

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong technical accounting experience (UK GAAP, IFRS)
• Experience within ERP optimisation and utilisation
• Evidence of working within a start-up/scale up environment
• Strong working knowledge of manufacturing principles and accounting
