The Job:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Heavy Vehicle / Bus & Coach Technical Tutor. Based in Perivale, Greater London, this role leads both practical and theoretical training for apprentices in the commercial vehicle sector. You will help learners develop the technical skills, knowledge and professional behaviours needed to complete their programme successfully.
The role reports to the Training Team Leader and works closely with colleagues, employers and external stakeholders to support learner progress and outcomes. This is a permanent, full-time position and offers the opportunity to move from hands-on industry work into a rewarding technical education career, with full support and professional development provided.
Responsibilities will include
• Deliver high-quality practical and theory training to groups of Heavy Vehicle / Bus & Coach apprentices.
• Support apprentices in developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to complete their programme.
• Provide engaging, interactive and industry-relevant training sessions.
• Carry out fair, accurate and consistent assessments against prescribed criteria.
• Maintain accurate programme documentation and learner records.
• Develop and continuously improve training materials, schemes of work and lesson plans.
• Create an inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, employers and stakeholders to support learner progress.
The Person
The ideal candidate is a seasoned Heavy Vehicle / Bus & Coach Technician with a genuine passion for mentoring the next generation of technicians. You will be confident, professional and able to communicate technical information clearly to learners of varying ability.
• Minimum Level 3 NVQ, ATA or equivalent qualification.
• Strong technical background in heavy vehicle, bus and coach maintenance and repair.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Desirable: experience with high-voltage or electrified commercial vehicles and ADAS technologies.
• Desirable: previous experience delivering training or an Education & Training qualification.
The Salary
£40,000 – £45,000, negotiable depending on skills, knowledge and experience. London weighting provision under review. Performance-related bonus scheme subject to company targets.
The Hours
Full-time, permanent. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The Location
Perivale, Greater London. On-site, in-person role with free on-site parking.
