Reed is recruiting for a number of Claims Handler opportunities with a leading Bristol-based organisation in the insurance sector, conveniently located just a short walk from Temple Meads.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills who enjoys helping people, is confident communicating over the phone and is looking to build a long-term career within the insurance industry. Previous insurance experience is not required, and we welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds including customer service, retail, hospitality, contact centres, complaints handling, banking, financial services and administration.
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (35 hours per week).
Hybrid Working: Office-based during training, with hybrid working introduced as confidence develops within the role.
Assessment Centre Dates
- Thursday 1st October, 9:00am-1:00pm
- Monday 5th October, 1:00pm-4:00pm
Start Date
- Monday 9th November
Full preparation and guidance will be provided ahead of the assessment centre.
The Role
As a Claims Handler, you'll manage legal expenses insurance claims from first notification through to conclusion. You'll investigate claims, review policy cover, assess information and evidence, communicate decisions and support customers throughout the claims journey.
This is a telephone-focused role, with much of your day spent speaking with customers. You'll be handling a mixture of routine enquiries and more challenging conversations, making empathy, resilience and strong communication skills essential.

Training & Progression
A comprehensive training programme is provided, including an initial two weeks of classroom-based learning followed by structured 10 weeks of coaching and support. Recruitment Process
Successful applicants will attend an assessment centre consisting of a competency-based interview, claims assessment exercise and telephone role play. Offers will be made shortly afterwards for either the November or January intake.
