An excellent opportunity is available for a qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Paralegal to join an established legal team in bRISTOL.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their existing expertise while managing a varied family law caseload and providing high-quality legal advice and representation to clients. The position will involve a mixture of contentious and non-contentious family matters, including divorce, domestic abuse, children matters, adoption and care proceedings.
Working hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm
Working arrangement: Office-based
To provide professional legal advice, representation and case management across a broad range of family law matters, ensuring clients receive clear, effective and commercially appropriate guidance throughout their case.
Key Duties:- Manage an individual caseload covering a broad range of family law matters.
- Advise and represent clients in divorce and other contentious family proceedings, including matters involving domestic abuse.
- Provide advice and representation in relation to children matters, including child contact and related arrangements.
- Handle adoption matters and provide appropriate legal guidance to clients throughout the process.
- Represent parents and/or children in care proceedings, including preparation for and attendance at court hearings.
- Attend court and advocate on behalf of clients where required.
- Represent clients in mediation and other forms of Non-Court Dispute Resolution.
- Meet with clients face-to-face and provide advice through telephone and video conferencing appointments.
- Develop a clear and comprehensive understanding of each client's circumstances and build a strong legal position based on the facts and applicable family law.
- Prepare, draft and review legal correspondence, statements, applications and other relevant documentation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider legal team, including senior management, solicitors, paralegals, secretarial staff and other support personnel.
- Seek appropriate guidance from more senior fee earners where necessary and contribute to the continued development of legal knowledge and technical expertise.
- Participate in regular file reviews with a senior Solicitor to maintain high standards of compliance, file management and client care.
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Paralegal with relevant family law experience.
- Demonstrable experience handling family law matters and managing a caseload independently.
- Experience of contentious family work, including divorce and domestic abuse matters.
- Knowledge and practical experience of children law, adoption and care proceedings.
- Ability to represent clients effectively in court proceedings.
- Experience of mediation and/or other forms of Non-Court Dispute Resolution.
- Strong legal drafting, analytical and case-management skills.
- Excellent client-care and communication abilities, with confidence advising clients both in person and remotely.
- Ability to establish the key issues within complex family matters and develop a clear and effective position on behalf of the client.
- Willingness to seek advice and collaborate with colleagues to strengthen knowledge and professional capability.
- Commitment to maintaining appropriate standards of compliance and client care.
- Ability to work towards a target of 6 billable hours per day and cooperate with the firm's credit control procedures.
Salary from £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
