Are you a passionate and committed Religious Studies Teacher looking for a short-term opportunity in Bristol this September?

Monarch Education are working with a supportive secondary school in Bristol that is seeking a confident Religious Studies specialist to join its Humanities team for the first month of September. This full-time placement offers the opportunity to establish positive relationships with pupils, support their progress and provide continuity at the start of the academic year.

The role
You will deliver engaging Religious Studies lessons across the relevant secondary year groups, helping pupils explore religious beliefs, practices, ethics and philosophical questions with respect and critical understanding. You will take responsibility for planning and marking during the placement, following the school's schemes of work and assessment expectations. Depending on experience and the timetable, there may also be opportunities to teach another Humanities subject.

You will be:
* Planning and delivering high-quality Religious Studies lessons
* Marking work, assessing progress and providing constructive feedback
* Encouraging thoughtful discussion, respectful debate and evidence-based analysis
* Adapting lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs
* Maintaining a calm, purposeful and well-managed classroom environment
* Supporting a smooth and positive start to the academic year
* Working collaboratively with the Humanities department and wider school team
* Following school policies, curriculum guidance and safeguarding procedures

We are looking for someone who is:
* A qualified teacher with QTS, or an experienced Religious Studies teacher with relevant UK classroom experience
* Confident teaching Religious Studies at secondary level
* Knowledgeable about the UK Religious Studies curriculum and relevant examination specifications
* Skilled in classroom and behaviour management
* Organised and able to manage planning, assessment and marking responsibilities
* Positive, reliable and available for the first month of September
* Able to facilitate sensitive topics with balance, respect and professionalism
* A strong communicator who works well as part of a team

Requirements:
* QTS or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification is desirable
* Strong subject knowledge in Religious Studies
* Experience teaching in a UK secondary school is preferred
* Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
* Right to work in the UK
* Willingness to complete registration, compliance and safeguarding checks
